M.I.N.D. Training program
January 2017, Montague Institute for New Directions (MIND) - a free 12 week skills building, goal setting and leadership training for women.
FIND NEW DIRECTION IN THE NEW YEAR
The Montague Institute for New Directions (MIND), a program that helps women identify strengths, set personal goals and identify the steps to attain them, is a twelve-week training program for women who are ready to take the next step in their lives, whatever that step may be. For some, it could be continuing their education, entering or re-entering the workforce, or starting a business. Women who feel ready to take their next step but are unsure of what that step is are also encouraged to participate. MIND can help them define their course, and set attainable goals.
“In the MIND Program we work toward discovering, acknowledging and embracing each woman’s own strengths, wisdom and life experience,” says Christine Diani, Women’s Center Programs Coordinator and facilitator of the MIND training. “We take the time to build confidence and self-esteem and then to identify, set, and work toward long and short-term goals, improving communication skills and leadership capabilities.”
MIND also helps women access local resources by inviting representatives from the community (Franklin County Community Development Corporation, Greenfield Community College, The Career Center and others) who can help women build personal and professional support networks.
There is no cost to participate. The MIND Training Program is funded by the Women's Fund of Western Massachusetts through the Franklin County Women’s GARDEN (Growing Agricultural Resiliency and Developing Economic Networks) Project, a collaboration with Greenfield Community College and New England Learning Center for Women in Transition.
